A tool to allow game and architectural texture artists to turn cloudy-day snapshots of rocks into seamless wall and floor textures is under development here. Turns untiled images of rock faces into expanses of chiseled stone walls and floors in minutes. Watch this space for technology demo and trial versions and free bump-mapped textures.

  • Creates diffuse, normal, and height maps by rendering procedurally generated 3D rocks
  • Low requirements so you can continue working in the same park you're taking pictures of rocks in

Free texture: rock00.zip 512x512 seamless texture, height map, and normal map. This was the program's output the same day I got normal map generation working for the first time.

Free texture: rock02.zip 1024x1024 seamless texture, height map, and normal map. If source material rock textures include matching normal maps, they can be blended using a configurable proportion.

One of the generated textures applied to some primitives in a popular raytracer with the _h file assigned to displacement with -0.5 and +0.5 and also to glossiness at 10% and bump at 50%.
